A Vital Life Community is designed to increase the sense of satisfaction and fulfillment in the life of our residents and decrease the potential impact of disease and disability. Research has shown that a community-focused lifestyle is very beneficial for optimum health and wellness. Those with passion, desire to live, and goals they wish to achieve by and large live longer than those who age without purpose and vigor. By embracing our Vital Life principles, a resident reduces the amount of critical care that may be necessary in later years.
8 DIMENSIONS OF THE WELL PERSON:
Our wellness-based programs stimulate, support, and enhance mind, body, and spirit!
The Franciscan Center at St. Leonard is a state-of-the-art wellness center offering fitness and wellness programs and activities tailored for the older adult. Whether joining a fitness class, sitting in the garden, or sharing a meal with friends, our wellness center can be the first step to a healthier, happier you.
For intellectual wellness, it’s important to keep the mind sharp and the curiosity piqued. St. Leonard residents enjoy many Seminars & Workshops through the “College for Lifelong Learning” program for senior adults at Sinclair Community College.
We believe that one’s spirituality is central to improved health and wellbeing. Our Spiritual Care Department helps residents of all faiths continue to meet their spiritual needs by offering Catholic and Protestant church services, bereavement support, spiritual listening, prayer groups, Bible Studies, the Sacraments and many other special spiritual celebrations.
