The monthly service fee entitles residents to Scheduled Transportation services to shopping centers, grocery stores, medical facilities, independent outings, and airports.
Residents who want to go shopping on Wednesday afternoon or Friday morning must sign-up in “Sister O’s” Activity Room. All sign-ups are on a first come, first serve basis with a limit of 15 residents per trip. (Space is limited to 15 residents per trip so each resident has room to store their groceries or packages on the trip back to campus.)
Wednesday Afternoon Shopping
We alternate shopping each week between Sugarcreek Plaza, Centerville and Meijer. We provide 12:00pm and 1:00pm pickup times for Sugarcreek Plaza and Centerville. There is a 1:00pm pickup for Meijer. Everyone returns to campus around 3:00pm.
Friday Morning Shopping
We provide two trips for shopping on Friday mornings. The first trip leaves at 8:00am and the second trip leaves at 10:00am.
Please try to arrive promptly at your pick-up location, so as not to cause a delay in the schedule.
Pickup Locations are: Chaminade Hall Lobby, JBR, and individual Cottages and Garden Homes
Transportation is provided to all independent outings. This includes lunch and dinner outings, and concerts.
Doctor’s appointments need to be scheduled M-F before 2:00pm.
When scheduling an appointment please call the transportation office at 937-439-7127 as far in advance as possible. If no one is available, please leave a message including your name, telephone number and address and someone will return your call as soon as possible.

“OUT OF AREA” DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS: Fees are $18.00/hour (beyond 10-mile radius)
Monday thru Friday, we transport people that participate in our Dayaway program to and from their homes to St. Leonard. At 8:00am, we begin picking up people from a 12-mile radius of St. Leonard at a time convenient for their families. Dayaway plans their activities for the day and at 3:30pm we begin transporting them back to their homes.
We provide transportation to the Dayton airport for Independent residents. There is a charge for this service. Please call the Transportation Department for exact charges because they vary depending on the times going to and returning from the airport.

The radius of service for the St. Leonard Transportation Department is approximately 10 miles. After that limit, a fee of $18.00 is charged to go one way. To avoid this charge there is another alternative called Project Mobility, which is a program of the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority. They charge $4.00 one-way.
Of course, there are limitations and restrictions, so it is important to call Project Mobility at 937-223-7433, to see if you are eligible. You can also pick up an application from the St. Leonard Transportation Department or call 937-439-7127 and we will send you a packet.
