Alzheimer’s is growing at an alarming rate.

  • In Ohio alone, over 210,000 individuals are living with Alzheimer’s and it will grow to 250,000 by 2025.
  • One in nine Americans over 65 is stricken with Alzheimer’s disease.
  • When the current wave of baby boomers reaches 85 in the year 2031, projections show that more than 3 million people age 85 and older will have Alzheimer’s disease.

It was essential that The Commons of Providence prepare now to have the quality of care available for the community.


New Memory Care addition with 14 suites is accepting applications now.

The Commons of Providence is the premier, memory care center in the Sandusky area and is currently home to 36 residents. When the memory care assisted living was originally constructed, it was designed to grow as future community needs warranted. The center of the building offers an innovative, unique Town Square concept featuring a beauty/barber salon, movie theatre, ice cream shop, and more.

 The new addition will feature:

  • 14 large private suites
  • An additional kitchen and dining area, private dining room, living room, nurses' station, and covered patio area
  • "Town Square" concept has beauty/barber salon, movie theater, and ice cream shop
  • Continuation of its well-known activity program featuring planned group activities and one-on-one interaction

As part of The Commons of Providence mission to provide the best quality of care, the entire memory care assisted living will upgrade its nurse call and wander management systems to the latest technology!
