Under the direction of the Director of Dietary, the Dishwasher washes all dishes, pots, pans, and puts away throughout shift. Delivers tray service orders. Maintains cleanliness of dish area. Checks in food deliveries and puts stock away. Assists in special food functions for residents and other departments.Principal Duties & Responsibilities..
Must be at least 16 yrs. of age. Able to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to move quickly and efficiently. Must use organizational skills in storerooms and walk-ins and to rotate stock. Six months prior experience in food service setting as a dishwasher preferred. Knowledge of Sanitation Rules. Food Handlers Card is required within the first 30 days of employment.
Standing 80% of the time; walking 19% of the time; sitting 1% of the time (lifting and carrying 25% of the time and able to carry up to 50 pounds; use of cart available if needed; must be able to reach overhead to shelves; step ladder available if needed. Pushing/pulling 75% of the time; bending, stooping, twisting 10% of the time; reaching and handling 90% of the time. Repetitive action for spraying dishes and putting them in racks. *Hearing: within normal limits with or without use of corrective hearing devices.
*Vision: adequate to read 12-point type with or without use of corrective lenses.
Must be able to verbally interact with staff, clients and public.
