Madonna Manor, a Northern Kentucky continuum of care retirement community, is in need of a mission-focused Director of Nursing (DON).

Candidate must have exceptional team management skills along with leadership prowess in order to achieve exceptional person-centered care. The person selected for this role will be supported by a team of strong, committed leaders.

Experience in senior care, mentoring, a desire to grow, and active Kentucky license required. Additional expertise in topic matters preferred.

Daily responsibilities range from facilitating interactions with families and residents, training floor staff, quality assurance and care plan auditing, to relationship building with local schools pertaining to healthcare employees, oversight of state and federal policies and procedures, and communication with team members and the Administrator.

Our team of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses completes the following job responsibilities: •Promoting the values and practices of Person-Centered Care throughout daily life in the household. •Encouraging and assisting all residents in achieving spiritual well-being and an optimum quality of life. •Developing and maintaining a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to ensure that nursing services and activities can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents. Creating and maintaining an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift. •Directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility, written policies, and procedures established by this facility. •Assisting physicians in reviewing resident treatment regime. Ensuring physician orders are appropriately carried out according to policies and procedures governing the facility. •Ordering prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary, and in accordance with established policies. Ensuring that narcotics are counted each shift and are accurate. •Demonstrating the ability to chart on all residents receiving acute or skilled care.

  • Using Point Click Care provide thorough documentation of residents’ status on a shift-to-shift basis in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided as well as the resident’s response to the care. •Making written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required. (e.g., 24-hour report sheets) •Requisitioning and arranging for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician, and in accordance with our established procedures. •Administering professional services, such as catheterization, tube feedings, and suction. Staff Development Coordinator - RN

Madonna Manor is now seeking an experienced RN to join our nursing management team and fill the full time, salaried position of Staff Development Coordinator. The position works days, Monday - Friday, and takes call every fourth week.

The qualified candidate for this position must be a licensed RN with previous experience in Long Term Care and in managing/supervising staff. He/she must possess proficient knowledge of the rules and regulations governing LTC in order to enable teaching.

Our ideal candidate is honest and caring with good clinical skills who desires to be a vital link in educating our nursing care team and all staff members. Strong organizational and communication skills are necessary for this position. The Staff Development Coordinator will provide education, training, educational guidance and support to the facility. This position must function as a team leader by working well with Human Resources, the DON, the Executive Director and with Regional Staff. The Staff Development Coordinator carries out facility initiatives in accordance with company policies and governmental regulations so as to promote the highest standards of quality and best practices in education and training.

Responsibilities of the position will include:

  • Provide general orientation, mandatory in-services, continuing education, and other training to meet all department and facility needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Set up and maintain Preceptor Programs
  • Determine and assess facility education needs
  • Plan, develop, and implement training
  • Evaluate and monitor the transfer of training to the workplace
  • Perform competency skills to assess transfer of safety training to the workplace
  • Assess training outcomes and determine effects, such as improved staff retention
  • Assure quality in education by utilization of authoritative resources and best practices
  • Support associate relations to ensure practices that maintain high morale and staff retention
  • Assist, coach, redirect and document performance problems as needed
