What is the difference between your various communities?

While we offer high quality care to all our residents, across the Franciscan Villa Continuum of Care the major difference is the level of care you or your loved one needs. Upon receipt of an application we require a clinical evaluation with the potential resident to determine which residential community: assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing best fits the resident’s needs and where within our community we provide a matching level of care. If someone needs more care at a later date, a recommendation will be given to graduate to the next level of care among our continuum.

Generally speaking, assisted living is a combination of housing, personalized support and wellness services designed to meet the needs of people requiring assistance with the activities of daily living. Memory care is designed for those with a dementia diagnosis that are in the moderate to late stages of the disease. Skilled nursing care is for those residents whose daily needs surpass what can be provided in assisted living.

How do you begin the process?

Once we receive an application from you or a referral from your hospital discharge planner the admissions review process is started. Our business office will conduct a financial review while our clinical team will reach out to conduct a health evaluation.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, in our assisted living communities we require a last month’s rent deposit. A first month’s rent deposit is only required if your move in date is prior to the 15th of the month. This requirement is waived for Family Care and Community Care participants.

Do you have to have an appointment for a tour?

No appointment is required. Tours are welcome at any time. We enjoy having visitors to our lovely 16 acre campus.

Can we bring our own furniture?

Yes, in our assisted living communities residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture. In our skilled nursing residence, residents are strongly encouraged to use the furniture provided by the facility.

How do I know if Franciscan Villa can meet my care needs?

Franciscan Villa assisted living and memory care communities have a licensed nurse on staff who performs an assessment of potential residents to determine if we are the right fit. These assessments help us see that our residents receive appropriate care and are among the factors we consider in determining and monitoring staff levels.

Can someone with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia live at Franciscan Villa?

Yes. Franciscan Villa’s campus features the Francis House assisted living community where specially trained staff provide innovative, highly personalized care in an intimate, structured environment for residents with moderate to severe dementia including Alzheimer’s.

Will I be given special status to move between the different communities in your Continuum of Care?

Yes, as a current resident of the Franciscan Villa campus you will be given priority admission status if you need to utilize our rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or assisted living services at any time.

What services are included with the price?

At all our living communities residents will be provided with 3 meals per day, medication administration, assistance with showering, laundry and housekeeping weekly, heat, a/c, DirectTV (except for Francis House - Memory Care), caregivers 24 hours/day. Note that phone service is not included. Services offered but not included in price are podiatry and optometry services. Our assisted living community also has its own pharmacy.
